The family is suing the bar for negligence, claiming there was not enough security to properly monitor the large crowd on the night of the incident, and that the protective railings surrounding the rooftop bar were too low. 77 Degrees rooftop bar initially was non-cooperative with the police investigation but has since released a statement claiming the young man jumped to his death. The investigation is still ongoing.

She represents a young woman who was injured during a protest in Dallas on June 1, 2020, following the murder of George Floyd. Michelle’s client was one of many peaceful protesters who were shot with rubber bullets by Dallas police officers, sprayed with tear gas, and then had their arms zip-tied behind their backs while being forced to lay face down on the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge for several hours before receiving medical attention.
